Chengdu Century Computer City is a specialized computer retail complex located on Moziqiao Technology Street in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Established in 1993, it was the first professional computer market in the city.
In the late 1980s, computer-related businesses began to emerge in the Moziqiao area, gradually forming what became known as a “Technology Street.” In the 1990s, the Wuhou District government implemented unified planning for this area, leading to the successive opening of markets such as Chengdu Computer City and Donghua Computer City. At its peak, the district hosted nine large-scale computer malls, more than 3,200 enterprises, and over 43,000 employees. In 2001, the Moziqiao commercial zone recorded total revenue exceeding 17.5 billion yuan, ranking second only to Zhongguancun in Beijing, and earning the nickname: “Zhongguancun in the north, Moziqiao in the south.”
Around 2010, under the impact of e-commerce, the area began transitioning toward modern electronic commerce and service industries. In 2015, the Wuhou District government promoted the development of the “Moziqiao Innovation and Entrepreneurship District,” leading to the closure or transformation of several computer malls and the introduction of innovation- and startup-oriented businesses. Chengdu Computer City itself was later renamed Baiteng Digital Plaza.
