Shaoshi Digital City was developed by Shaoshi Enterprise, a well-known company in Anhui Province. Building upon a decade of operation of the original Shaoshi Computer City, the project was comprehensively renovated and reconfigured through substantial investment. Established in 2000, Shaoshi Computer City was located in the highly prosperous Sanxiaokou commercial district of Hefei. As a pioneer among specialized IT retail markets in Anhui, it has also served as a historical witness to the development of the regional IT industry. Over the past decade, it remained at the forefront of the sector, guiding a number of IT firms and entrepreneurs toward more standardized forms of operation and management.

In 2009, drawing on ten years of experience in managing computer retail markets, Shaoshi Digital City invested 20 million RMB to undertake a comprehensive renovation and strategic redesign of the original complex, guided by internationally advanced commercial concepts. The project rationally reorganized more than 10,000 square meters of space and repositioned itself as a themed marketplace focused on fashionable and modern IT and digital products. It brought together a diversified retail format that included branded computers, DIY digital assembly, and new product experience zones—combining brand-oriented, stylish, quality-driven, and experiential retail elements.

The complex was carefully designed to create an optimal shopping environment and atmosphere, incorporating leisure and entertainment facilities, such as gaming experience areas, as complementary services. It also offers comprehensive support infrastructure, aiming to provide merchants with a well-managed and efficient business platform conducive to easy operation and rapid profitability, while enabling consumers to enjoy shopping within a dynamic, fashionable, and comfortably relaxed environment.
