Cyber Digital Plaza was established in 1999. Its founding team was among the first to propose the concept of a “digital plaza,” innovatively integrating “4C” products—computers, communications, consumer electronics, and internet services—into a unified retail platform. On December 25, 1999, it opened its flagship store on Huaihai Middle Road in Shanghai, marking the beginning of a new era for chain-based IT retail markets in China.
In April 2003, the Xi’an Yanta Road branch of Cyber Digital Plaza officially opened. Located on Yanta Road, a well-known local IT and electronics street, the store entered a highly competitive commercial environment. The district brought together several prominent digital marketplaces, including Cyber and SEG. Among them, SEG Computer Mall served as the core landmark of the area. At its peak, it consistently accounted for over 60% of Xi’an’s IT market share, with annual sales reaching as high as 7 billion RMB and cumulative sales exceeding 100 billion RMB. It was repeatedly ranked among the “Top Ten Computer Malls in China” and was widely known as the “electronic heart of Northwest China.”
The Cyber Digital Plaza in Xi’an has a total operating area of nearly 8,000 square meters, organized across four levels. The basement level is dedicated to communications services, repair, networking, and security equipment; the ground floor features digital products; the second floor focuses on laptops and branded computers; and the third floor specializes in DIY components and office equipment.
